The Inner World of Mind

Understanding mind is key to understanding ourselves and the world we live in. On the basis of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, Gelek Rimpoche will explore the inner workings of our mind, opening the door to the true nature of reality.

Lam Rim II: The Medium Scope

Lam Rim, spiritual practice according to the tradition of Je Tsong Khapa, traverses the entire path to enlightenment. Offered as Lam Rim I, II, and III, Lam Rim II explores the medium scope of spiritual development aimed at liberating the individual from suffering once and for all. This in-depth course is recommended to follow Odyssey to Freedom and Three Principles of the Path.

The Healing Practice of White Tara

Tara is the mother goddess of Tibetan Buddhism, known for her quick and compassionate activity. She is particularly associated with healing and long life. This course uses visualization techniques relying on the feminine energy of White Tara to overcome physical, mental and emotional suffering.

Six Session Guru Yoga

Known as the “golden dharma”, this fundamental vajrayana practice brings benefits as it deepens our understanding of guru devotion. It also confirms and maintains commitments taken with Highest Yoga tantra initiation. Based on Gelek Rimpoche’s transcript “Six Session Guru Yoga”, illuminating both long and short Six Session Guru Yoga practices. Open to all with Highest Yoga tantra initiation.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
   Gelek Rimpoche is the Founder and Spiritual Director of Jewel Heart. Among the last generation of incarnate lamas tutored by the great masters in Old Tibet, Rimpoche’s command of contemporary western culture allows him to convey the Tibetan Buddhist tradition with wisdom, kindness and wit.
   Tony King is a Jewel Heart Instructor and a student of Gelek Rimpoche for 20 years. He works as a research investigator in the Dept of Psychiatry at University of Michigan where he studies the neuroscience of emotion and trauma-related psychiatric disorders, and mindfulness-based psychological interventions as a member of the Psychiatric Affective Neuroimaging Laboratory and the Trauma, Stress, and Anxiety research group.
   Helen Weingarten During her academic career at the University of Michigan, School of Social Work, Helen co-founded and co-directed an interdisciplinary program on understanding conflict and its management across a wide range of settings. She has had the rare opportunity and honor to present and discuss her writings on conflict and intentionality with His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Since that time she hopes that her practice of conflict resolution has deepened and progressed.

Friday Free Film Evenings

Join us for our monthly free movie, for concessions and conversation about the film and Dharma.

Director Tom Shadyac. Hosted by Rose Jasso. When someone dies, are they gone forever? A grieving doctor seems to be contacted by his late wife through her patients near death experiences. The broader message mines the vast force of love.
