Lam Rim I: The Initial Scope – Section One
The Lam Rim, or stages on the path to enlightenment, precisely outlines the entire
spiritual path and is Je Tsongkhapa's most important legacy. This first section illuminates
the life we have and offers clear steps to take the best advantage of it. Topics include the
teacher/student relationship, precious life, impermanence, rebirth, refuge, and karma. Please join us for this first in a series of linked courses to continue over the next two years that present the entire Tibetan Buddhist path. Open to both new and continuing students.

Open Meditation Sessions
During this hour of sitting meditation, participants have the opportunity to engage in analytical meditation on the Lam Rim points, personal practice in a group setting, or concentrated meditation on the breath or other object of focus. A Jewel Heart facilitator will open and close each session, answer questions, and provide guidance. Open to students at all levels of experience. Free.

GOM Weekend Workshop
The powerful tool of concentrated meditation is essential in order to reach the highest levels of understanding on the spiritual path. This program consists of four sessions of instruction in the theory and practice of concentrated meditation over a single weekend, followed in coming months by a series of practice weekend intensives. Hartmut Sagolla, co-program director of Jewel Heart, will be visiting from Ann Arbor to lead the weekend. Open to both new and continuing students.

Join Gelek Rimpoche, founder and spiritual director of Jewel Heart, and Jewel Heart instructors for a series of teachings videocast live from Ann Arbor, Michigan. In this series, Rimpoche will teach on The Swift Path, or Nyur Lam in Tibetan. Composed by the Third Panchen Lama, this text succinctly lays the ground for spiritual development through clear and relevant topics for visualization and analytical meditations.

The Healing Practice of White Tara
Tara is the mother goddess of Tibetan Buddhism, known for her quick and compassionate activity. She is particularly associated with healing and long life. This course uses visualization techniques relying on the feminine energy of White Tara to overcome physical, mental and emotional suffering.
Join us for this four-week class followed by two weeks of guided meditation and group practice of the healing and long-life practices of White Tara. These sessions are an ideal introduction to Tibetan Buddhist meditation for new and less experienced students. Experienced students will enjoy the chance to review and practice with a group.
