Jewel Heart News
CLEVELAND CHAPTER January-February 2007

Jewel Heart is an educational and cultural center whose doors are open to all. Its purpose is to transmit the essence of Tibetan Buddhism in an authentic and accessible form. Jewel Heart provides guidance and practical methods to anyone interested in spiritual development, as well as those who wish to follow the traditional Buddhist path.

Jewel Heart Winter Retreat

The 2007 Jewel Heart Winter Retreat will be held in Ann Arbor, Michigan from February 2 - 11, 2007. Gehlek Rimpoche will teach on the Lama Chopa with Mahamudra. The Lama Chopa, A Rite Celebrating the Guru, is a complete guru yoga practice, integrating aspects of sutra and tantra into a common framework. Written in poetic verses it includes methods of relating to one’s guru and a comprehensive meditation on the entire spiritual path. The Mahamudra deals with meditation on the conventional and ultimate nature of mind. Combining concentration and wisdom, mind itself becomes the subject as well as object of meditation. This can be practiced very effectively in the context of guru yoga.

This retreat is open to all. Download the registration form on the Jewel Heart website at www.jewelheart.org. For more information, email registration@jewelheart.org.
