JH Cleveland News

Ven. Thubten Chodron inspired us once again with her talks at JH Cleveland in July. For over 10 years, she has been coming to our center and teaching in the evenings while visiting Ohio inmates during the day. We are fortunate to have this continuing connection with her.

As noted above, Joe Sestito's book Write for Your Lives: Inspire Your Creative Writing with Buddhist Wisdom has just been published. Copies will soon be available in the JH store, or pick up a copy at his Oct. 3 workshop. Check out the intros by Thurman and Glenn Mullin!

Our long awaited GOM workshop took place Aug. 22 and 23 with 17 students attending from as far away as Pittsburgh. Greg (Supa) Corner brought the material on the stages of concentrated meditation to life with his stories of practice in the Tibetan and Korean Zen traditions. We are all looking forward to some intensive GOM practice weekends.

Several deaths of family members and illnesses among our Sangha have reminded us that as a Sangha we can offer the support of prayers, dedication and practical assistance for those going through these difficult times.
