March Potluck. A potluck and preliminary Tibetan class was held
at JH Cleve. 3/27/04. We had the good fortune of having as a guest
Tsewang Namgyal Shelling who has generously agreed to teach Tibetanlanguage/culture
classes at Cleve JH. Those in attendance enjoyed wonderful food
and had the opportunity to listen as Mr. Shelling shared not only
a preliminary lesson on the language, but also his own personal
experiences in Tibet. He was imprisoned in 1959 as a "reactionary"
and spent the next 20 years in prison in Lhasa during which time
he taught himself Chinese. He immigrated to India in1985 and joined
