HAPPINESS AMID SUFFERING

In this session, you will be listening to an unedited video recording of a public talk by Gelek Rimpoche, hosted by Jewel Heart Bloomfield Hills at the Birmingham Unitarian Church in Bloomfield Hills, MI on November 18, 2013

In this teaching, Rimpoche walks us through what Jewel Heart courses bring to our lives and, highlighting the reality of taking a combined material and spiritual approach to life, explores three spiritual elements in Tibetan Buddhism – Hinayana, Mahayana, and Vajrayana.

Acknowledging the diverse ways suffering comes into our lives, Rimpoche warns us to “not let suffering get us”, and to learn how to be happy at all times, under all conditions. Rimpoche points out we need to begin at the beginning, learn how to keep our mind calm, generate a little love and compassion and remember our whole purpose is to be helpful, not only for ourselves but for everyone.

This single session is slightly over one hour in length.
