THE LIVING ANCIENT ART OF TIBERAN BUDDHIST THANGKAS

In this offering, you will be viewing the video recording of Gelek Rimpoche’s lecture opening the University of Michigan Museum of Art exhibition “Buddhist Thangkas and Treasures: The Walter Koelz Collection, Museum of Anthropology” in Ann Arbor, Michigan on February 24, 2013.

While discussing the role of thangkas and art in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, Gelek Rimpoche also reminds us to remain grounded in our personal life experiences as we build our relationship with ourselves, “the enlightened society”, and our own future enlightenment.

This session is over an hour in length.
