Meditation is an important tool on the spiritual path, helping to develop focus, stability, insight and understanding. In addition to the more commonly known concentration methods, we will also experience analytical and visualization meditations on various topics.

LOJONG: Training the Mind in Eight Verses

In eight potent verses, Kadampa Master Langri Tanpa reveals profound and practical methods for developing an altruistic mind. Following Gelek Rimpoche’s transcript, we will explore this process for exchanging priorities between ourself and others, including the practice of tong len, a radical give-and-take method for relieving suffering and gifting joy. October 24 – THE LOST WORLD OF TIBET (2007) A BBC documentary includes rare footage of “Old Tibet” as it follows the story of Tibet and the life of the 14th Dalai Lama, from early childhood and through his escape to India in 1959.
November 21 – THE AMERICAN RIMPOCHE (2014) This documentary about the American Rimpoche, Gelek Rimpoche, follows Rimpoche in everyday life, includes rare photographs of “Old Tibet” and includes interviews and many special guests, such as Philip Glass, Donald Lopez, Robert Thurman, Richard Gere and many more. Filmmaker Nikki Appino.
December 19 – WHAT DREAMS MAY COME TRUE (1998) Robin Williams stars in this film that highlights aspects of samsara, the bardo and the influence our mind and thoughts play in creating our experience.
