Description:
In Buddhist Tantric Practice, the main body of practice is twofold, termed simply “clear light yoga” and “illusory body yoga.” In general, sleep yoga is part of the clear light yoga practice, and dream yoga part of the illusory body practice. In turn, the clear light of sleep yoga becomes clear light yoga at the time of death, and dream yoga becomes bardo yoga, the means of accomplishing enlightenment in the bardo. Our weekend will explore various techniques from the Tibetan tradition that open our access to these important states.

DHARMA ACTIVITIES

Explore classic Buddhist texts and meditation practices with us on alternating Sundays:

1st Sunday of the month
GOM – Concentrated meditation

GOM, or concentrated meditation, helps to develop clarity, serenity and a deeper understanding of the world we live in. Review and practice the essentials of GOM with a senior Jewel Heart Chicago instructor.

2nd Sunday of the month
The Healing Practice of White Tara

Tara is the mother goddess of Tibetan Buddhism, known for her quick and compassionate activity. She is particularly associated with healing and long life. This practice uses visualization techniques relying on the feminine energy of White Tara to overcome physical, mental, and emotional suffering.

3rd Sunday of the month
The Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life

Also known as the Wonders of Compassion, Shantideva’s Bodhisattvacharyavatara is among the most beloved and inspiring works in the Mahayana tradition. It illuminates the qualities and benefits of bodhimind, the altruistic aspiration to become enlightened to benefit others.

4th Sunday of the month
Lama Chopa Practice and Tsoh Offering

Lama Chopa is a beautiful practice that richly illustrates and guides us through each stage on the path to enlightenment. When accompanied by a Tsoh offering, it also allows the opportunity to generate and dedicate great amounts of merit. All are welcome.
