Cleveland Programs March – April 2013

Spring Sangha Gathering and Raffle Drawing! With pizza!
Sunday March 17 11 am to 1 pm or so

Our holiday raffle drawing will take place on St. Patrick’s Day. You don’t have to be present to win, but why miss the fun and food? Come share veggie and meat pizzas, salads, and hot and cold drinks with Jewel Heart Cleveland sangha. It’s a great opportunity for old and new people to get to know each other, as well as learn a bit about how the nuts and bolts (aka Sangha Council) of the center work. All are welcome, including kids. And yes, you still have time to buy raffle tickets!

Following Gelek Rimpoche’s transcript, De Lam, this course presents aspects of life for meditation that will deepen our relationship with the guru, ourselves, and ultimately bring about our future enlightenment. This course is open to all.

2. Vajrayana, the tantric/esoteric aspect of Buddha’s teachings, is rooted in experiential understanding of the intention of the sutras – development of compassion and wisdom. This course for those with highest yoga tantra initiation only and follows Rimpoche’s transcript, Introduction to Vajrayana, exploring the structure of vajrayana and highlighting stages and practices from taking initiation up to the ultimate union of the Vajradhara state.

Seeking Donations for Silent Auction

Our Cleveland Silent Auction has consistently been our most successful fundraiser, and a great place to find low cost gifts (not to mention the fun of bidding wars). Check your attics and the back of your closets for treasures that may appeal to others and raise some money for Jewel Heart. We ask that donations have a value of about $20 or more. A receipt for tax purposes can be provided upon request. Please bring items for the auction to any Jewel Heart event before May 1. Thanks all!

Food Drive: A practice of generosity

As a way of practicing generosity to those in need in our Tremont community, we are collecting donations of non-perishable food. You can bring your items to any Jewel Heart event and put them in the box on the front window sill.As Rimpoche advises, please do not give ‘yellow mushy vegetables or blue butter,’ ie no food beyond expiration date, please.
