JEWEL HEART NORCAL FALL 2018 / WINTER 2019 PROGRAMS

Beginning Thursday, October 11, 2018, and continuing for every Thursday through the end of April 2019. Jewel Heart Norcal Study Group will be studying SEM. This topic is based on Rimpoche’s transcript SEM: The Nature of the Mind. Topics include exploring the relationship between energy and mind, the mind’s capacity for liberation and wisdom, and the continuity of consciousness.

The format of our Study Group includes meditations, lively discussions and interactions based on Rimpoche’s transcript. All are welcome regardless of background or religious affiliation. Jewel Heart Norcal meets Thursday mornings from 10:30-12:00 pm at a member’s house in downtown Grass Valley. WHITE TARA STUDY & HEALING MEDITATIONS

BEGINS THURSDAY, APRIL 5TH

This 8-week course will focus on healing and life-affirming practices of White Tara, the Female Buddha of healing and longevity. We will explore the symbolism of Tara, Collecting Life Visualizations, Meaning of the Mantra as well as weekly meditations such as the Six Healing Shields Practice. One can use these and apply these practices to one’s own life for healing oneself and others.

Meeting Thursdays from 10:30 to Noon in April and May in downtown Grass Valley*

Jewel Heart Norcal Study Group is a local study group dedicated to Tibetan Mahayana Buddhism as taught by Kyabje Gelek Rimpoche in the tradition of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. This course is offered free of charge. Donations gratefully accepted.

Jewel Heart Norcal is continuing our study of the Lam Rim through Rimpoche’s commentary “Odyssey to Freedom.” Our ongoing discussions includes such topics such as refuge, karma and cultivating compassion. At each meeting we explore practical application of the topics through guided meditations.
