GOM, or concentrated meditation, helps to develop clarity, serenity and a deeper understanding of the world we live in. Review and practice the essentials of GOM with a senior Jewel Heart Chicago instructor.

The Healing Practice of White Tara
Tara is the mother goddess of Tibetan buddhism, known for her quick and compassionate activity. She is particularly associated with healing and long life. This practice uses visualization techniques relying on the feminine energy of White Tara to overcome physical, mental, and emotional suffering.

The Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life, Chapter One
Also known as the Wonders of Compassion, Shantideva’s Bodhisattvacharyavatara is among the most beloved and inspiring works in the Mahayana tradition. It illuminates the qualities and benefits of bodhimind, the altruistic aspiration to become enlightened to benefit others.

Lama Chopa Practice and Tsog Offering
Lama Chopa is a beautiful practice that richly illustrates and guides us through each stage on the path to enlightenment. When accompanied by a Tsoh offering, it also allows the opportunity to generate and dedicate greatamounts of merit. All are welcome.

This online course will guide participants through the process of creating a practice out of the wisdom in Gelek Rimpoche’s best-selling spiritual classic, Good Life, Good Death. Facilitated by Jewel Heart instructor Amy Hertz, who edited the book, the course is intended to help us live our lives with more joy, purpose, intelligence, and compassion.

Following the Sunday Talk on May 6, we will be meeting to review the 11 yogas of Vajrayogini, based on Gelek Rimpoche’s Vajrayogini transcript. The review will be open to those who have received Vajrayogini initiation and teachings.

Vajrayana or tantra holds a special place in the imagination of many spiritually minded people. Experienced tantric teacher Glenn Mullin will shed light on the deeper meaning of this profound spiritual method, and elucidate its purpose and goals.
Glenn is a Tibetologist, Buddhist writer, translator of classical Tibetan literature, and teacher of Tantric Buddhist meditation. He lived in the Indian Himalayas between 1972 and 1984, and studied philosophy, literature, meditation, yoga, and the enlightenment culture under thirty-five of the greatest living masters of the four schools of Tibetan Buddhism.
He is the author of over 20 books on Tibetan Buddhism, founded and directed the Mystical Arts of Tibet, and has curated a number of important Tibetan art exhibitions.

Glenn Mullin will also be giving the Jewel Heart Sunday talk from Jewel Heart Chicago on Sunday, February 11 at 10 am (Central Time). He is scheduled to speak on the second of the four mindfulnesses, “The Mindfulness of the Altruistic Aspiration to Enlightenment.” He and Gelek Rimpoche were both present for Kyabje Ling Rinpoche’s teachings on this topic, held at Tibet House New Delhi around 1980.
