Jewel Heart Norcal is now meeting evenings from 6:00-7:30 pm every Wednesday. We are starting a study of “The Foundation of Perfections” which is a practical guide of stages on the path to full enlightenment. The “Foundation of Perfections” is a Buddhist text that we will study, by intimate access to the material through explanation, group discussions, and meditation. The group will use Gelek Rimpoche’s text by the same name as a guide. All are welcome–Buddhist background or affiliation is not required. Meetings are held at a member’s house in downtown Grass Valley.

TRANSFORMING THE MIND THROUGH THE THEATER OF COMPASSION
Chenrezig (Sanskrit – Avalokitesvara or the “one who looks with unwavering eye”), is the Buddha of Compassion, particularly revered in Tibet and called upon during times of challenge and difficulty. The lineage of the Dalai Lamas are said to be emanations of Chenrezig. This weekend, Glenn Mullin will teach from a text by the 2nd Dalai Lama, and help us bring compassion to life through an embodied meditational form.

DEMO RINPOCHE – TECHNOLOGY and SPIRITUALITY In THE 21ST CENTURY
Does today’s worldview, focused on technology, have need for spirituality? Or is our technological journey coincidentally leading us directly to ancient spiritual wisdom traditions and their revelations about the nature of reality? Join Demo Rinpoche as he explores spirituality and technology in our world today.
Demo Rinpoche received the highest monastic degree of Geshe Lharampa from Gelupa University in India in 2011. He continued his studies at Gyume Tantric College and was a visiting scholar under the auspices of the Dalai Lama at Sarah College in Dharamsala. At the request of Jewel Heart’s Founder, Gelek Rimpoche (1939- 2017), Demo Rinpoche came to the United States where he received his Master’s Degree in Inter-Religious Engagement from Union Theological Seminary in NY in 2018 and is now Jewel Heart’s Resident Spiritual Advisor.
