2020 Lam Rim with Demo Rinpoche – Part 4 (2020)

In the Lam Rim, or Stages on the Path to Enlightenment, Buddha’s teachings are presented step-by-step to allow for gradual experiential awareness and understanding of our inner and outer world. Through this process, we can transform the challenges and confusion encountered in ordinary everyday life to the extraordinary compassion and wisdom of enlightenment.

Demo Rinpoche will teach Tuesday evenings from 7:00pm to 8:30pm based on Je Tsongkhapa’s Medium Lam Rim. These extensive teachings on the stage of the path to enlightenment will be ongoing.

DATES/TIMES ~ Tuesdays, 7:00 - 8:30pm Eastern Time
January 14 - April 14, 2020

JE TSONGKHAPA (1357-1419) was a great fourteenth-century scholar and teacher who founded the Gelug tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. His many treatises finalized the work begun by Atisha, bringing together the vast body of Indian scriptures and schools of practice into a unified exposition of the sutrayana and tantrayana paths. He wrote several lam rims. The most well-known is The Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path of Enlightenment (Lam rim chen mo). There is also a medium-length lam rim text by Tsongkhapa (200 pages) and a short one, called Lam-rim Dü-dön (Tib.), which is recited daily by many Gelugpas and is about ten pages long.
