Vajrayogini Practice Mantra Retreat with a Fire Puja

Opening the retreat at Jewel Heart Ann Arbor requires all be present for the start of the Preliminaries on Friday, February 23 at 6pm. The retreat will close after the fire puja, sadhana closing and tsoh on Sunday, March 4, mid afternoon.

This mantra retreat is open for those who have already received Naropa Vajrayogini highest yoga tantra initiation and related teachings by Kyabje Gelek Rimpoche or another qualified master.

The actual retreat will begin at the Ann Arbor center and will end with a fire puja. Participants are permitted to accumulate mantras in advance of arriving in Ann Arbor. Details provided with registration.

We are happy to announce that videos of Rimpoche’s teachings from the 2015 Winter Retreat have been posted to the Vajrayogini Winter Retreat registrants’ webpage for the duration of the retreat.

Retreat Talks by Demo Rinpoche
Demo Rinpoche will speak to both retreat groups at the beginning and at the end of the retreat.

All retreat participants will open the onsite Ann Arbor retreat together at 6pm sharp on Friday, February 23rd. If you have a conflict with the start time, contact Programs right away at programs@jewelheart.org.

MEALS, MAINTAINING THE CENTER, ITEMS TO BRINGMEALS
Breakfast recommended at home.
Lunch and Dinner time periods will be shared by both retreat groups.Silence/quiet time is requested during meals and throughout the day at the center near the retreat/meditation rooms, as some people may choose to remain/return to their seats while others are off their seats.We suggest brown bag lunches and dinners. Refrigerator space will be available. Please mark your items with your name and date. Items will need to rotate regularly due to limited space.
CENTER
Please only use closeable beverage containers.
Please keep the space around you clean and take care to not step over other’s cushion or dharma materials.
Please participate in volunteer cleaning – Your help keeping the center clean and stocked is helpful service as a bodhisattva activity and in maintaining the mandala for everyone during the retreat.

The overall schedule is flexible to allow individually extending or shortening one’s sessions as desired.

Lunch and Dinner periods are the same for both Ganden Lha Gyema and Vajrayogini retreats to help minimize sound disturbances for participants.

Quiet zones near the retreat rooms will be established for the mealtimes in support of those who may choose continue on their chair/cushion during meal periods.

To support newcomers to sitting in a Vajrayogini retreat, Saturday and Sunday, February 24 and 25 includes opening and closing as a group. People wishing to keep a different schedule are welcome to do so.
