His Eminence Dagyab Rinpoche is one of the foremost Tibetan lamas living in the West and a lifelong friend and colleague of Jewel Heart’s late founder and Spiritual Director, Gelek Rimpoche. At the request of our current spiritual director, Demo Rinpoche, he has graciously accepted the request for a teaching on the Bodhisattva’s Jewel Garland.
The Bodhisattva’s Jewel Garland is an early and important expression of the Kadampa mind-training tradition associated with Atiśa (982–1054), the great Indian scholar who was foundational in establishing Buddhism in Tibet. This composition is the basis in the development of Tibetan lojong. The work is essentially a compact guide to living as a bodhisattva, a buddha-to-be who dedicates all thoughts and actions towards the selfless well-being of others.
This is not primarily a philosophical explanation of emptiness or a manual for one particular meditation. Instead, it offers practical instructions for transforming one’s entire way of thinking, speaking, and behaving.
Dagyab Rinpoche will teach in English but simultaneous translations are available in German and Dutch.
