There is a general tradition in Tibet that Shakyamuni Buddha’s spiritual and civilizational movement would remain authentic for 2,000 years, and then would have a 500 year long “Facsimile Dharma” period, before the Kaliyuga dark age continued. The connection to Jey Rinpochey is the other Tibetan tradition that his exemplary life and remarkable works and realizations would renew the authentic Dharma at least in the spiritual fortress of Tibet during those 500 years and beyond. Of course, Tibetans also believe they are on their way with us all fairly soon to the advent of Shambhala and a new golden age, so they are obviously not resigned to sinking back into Kaliyuga without a fight. In this session, we will consider Jey Lama’s insights and impacts in his own time and since, touching also upon the amazing contribution of his Great Fourteenth successor in the line of Dalai Lamas.
