The Heart Sutra is also known as The Heart of the Perfection of Wisdom. This is a rare opportunity to receive teachings on this profound explanation of emptiness from the one of the greatest living masters of Tibetan Buddhist scholarship. Now in his 90’s, Geshe Yeshe Thabkhe teaches based on his deep understanding of this subject acquired over a lifetime of study. These teachings are relevant for all levels of practitioners and open to all.

Includes an extensive teaching on the sūtra by His Holiness. The appendix consists of Geshe Jimpa's translation of Jamyang Gawai Lodrö's commentary, which has been the basis of Geshe Thabkhe's teaching.

Includes essays on various aspects of the Heart Sūtra in Indian (and to some degree Tibetan) traditions, interspersed with translations of the eight extant Indian commentaries (including that of Vimalamitra, which is prominently cited by Jamyang Gawai Lodrö).

(3) Lopez, Jr., Donald S. The Heart Sūtra Explained: Indian and Tibetan Commentaries. State University of New York Press, 1988.

Goes through the sūtra in sequence and provides Indian and Tibetan perspectives on each section of the text. Part II consists of translations of two Geluk commentaries, those of Tendar Lharampa and Gungtang Könchok Tenpai Drönme.
