If everyone has Buddha Nature does that mean we are already enlightened?

Some great masters understood Buddha Nature as a seed to be nurtured and some believed Buddha Nature as being fully developed within the individual. Demo Rinpoche will explore the topic of Buddha Nature, or the seed of buddhahood. There are many examples of Buddha Nature in well-known teachings, including the Uttaratantra (Sublime Continuum) and The Ornament of Mahayana Sutras. Exploring Buddha Nature deepens our understanding of enlightenment and widens the view of Buddha’s Dharma.

In addition to Demo Rinpoche’s teachings, there will be panel discussions each afternoon. The topics will include:

  • Precious Human Life
  • Refuge and Definition of Enlightenment
  • Merit and Purification
  • Nature of Mind
  • Free Will and the Unenlightened Mind
  • Interdependence and Buddha’s Qualities

Onsite Social Activities (* and online)

  • Yoga Stretches – Tuesday – Saturday
  • Bird Watching – Guided Expedition – Tuesday
  • Brown bag lunch in a Magical Garden offsite – Wednesday
  • Dinner (bring your own) and Movie night – Thursday
  • *Talent Show – onsite/online – Friday

This year, as in the past, a tent will be provided for the teachings and gatherings as weather permits.
