Gelek Rimpoche will give teaching and oral transmissions based on Shantideva’s Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life. We invite you to enjoy the short video of Rimpoche introducing the retreat at the bottom of this page.
The retreat begins Thursday afternoon, July 5, 3 – 5pm with final registration. Teachings begin at 7:30pm that evening.
The retreat concludes Sunday afternoon, July 15 – however, PLEASE NOTE that the duration of the Sunday, July 15, 2:30pm closing session cannot be determined in advance. If the teaching and oral transmissions have been completed it will be a brief concluding session. If the text and teachings are not completed, Rimpoche will continue until finished. We recommend you plan your travel accordingly.
The general schedule includes daily 8am White Tara meditation sessions, 9:30am – 1pm teaching sessions, afternoon activities will be announced, some days with discussion groups meeting from approx 2:30/2:45. Rimpoche will teach from 4 – 5:30/6pm. Optional activities are scheduled for the evenings, including fun music, singing, dancing, an evening with a skit/performance under the direction of Rochelle Winter, and an evening pot luck dinner.
Jewel Heart member cost is $500, non- members is $600. A $150 non-refundable deposit is due June 16.
Attendees are responsible for their meals and lodging. Jewel Heart does not have facilities to provide meals or lodging.
Upon registration, we will send you a confirmation letter with more details about the retreat, including reading materials, what to bring, carpooling needs, a list of suggested options for nearby hotels at good rates and options to support carpooling and to request sangha lodging.
Update: CARPOOLING is essential.
