Visa issue update (as of 10/13). Please note the following:
As of now, we continue to pursue a visa for Tokden Rinpoche’s travel to the U.S. The process is moving slowly with the U.S. Embassy in Delhi. If we do not hear that Tokden Rinpoche has received a visa appointment by Tuesday, October 20, we will be forced to cancel plans for Token Rinpoche’s visit to Ann Arbor due to time constraints. If Tokden Rinpoche does receive a visa but travel is delayed, we will adjust the Ann Arbor schedule accordingly to ensure that the initiations take place. If Tokden Rinpoche does not receive a visa, we will request online teachings and oral transmissions instead. We are sorry for the inconvenience and uncertainty of this situation up to now. We are doing everything possible to clarify the situation and we will keep you informed. Thank you again for your patience.
Tokden Rinpoche kindly accepted Demo Rinpoche and Jewel Heart’s invitation to return to Jewel Heart in Ann Arbor, Michigan and give the Heruka Initiation, a Yamantaka Initiation, a Six Yogas of Naropa teaching, and conclude with the Manjushri-Avalokiteshvara-Vajrapani Initiation.
Tokden Rinpoche is one of a handful of the great living Gelugpa masters educated in old Tibet who is available to give us these initiations. He is one of the lamas specifically invited by Gelek Rimpoche to give initiations at Jewel Heart. His first visit to Jewel Heart was at the 1993 Summer Retreat.
