Tokden Rinpoche Update
The initiations will begin on Saturday November 7. Times to be determined.
At Tokden Rinpoche’s request, there is an adjustment to the initiation schedule.
Tokden Rinpoche plans to offer the Heruka Ghantapa 5 Deities initiation on Saturday and Sunday, November 7 and 8 and then the Heruka Body Mandala initiation on Monday, November 9. To attend the Heruka Body Mandala initiation, the Heruka Ghantapa 5 Deities is the prerequisite. It is however also possible to just take the Ghantapa 5 Deities initiation on its own.
The Yamantaka Thirteen-Deity Initiation will remain as previously scheduled on Tuesday – Wednesday, November 10 – 11.
Six Yogas of Naropa onsite and online teachings will take place November 12 – 14 & 16 as previously scheduled.

Tokden Rinpoche kindly accepted Demo Rinpoche and Jewel Heart’s invitation to return to Jewel Heart in Ann Arbor, Michigan and give the Heruka Initiation, a Yamantaka Initiation, a Six Yogas of Naropa teaching, and conclude with the Manjushri-Avalokiteshvara-Vajrapani Initiation.
Tokden Rinpoche is one of a handful of the great living Gelugpa masters educated in old Tibet who is available to give us these initiations. He is one of the lamas specifically invited by Gelek Rimpoche to give initiations at Jewel Heart. His first visit to Jewel Heart was at the 1993 Summer Retreat.

Heruka Ghantapa 5 Deities Initiation
Saturday November 7 & Sunday November 8
The Heruka Ghantapa 5 Deities Initiation originates from the Indian Mahasiddha Ghantapa (Tibetan: Drilbupa). This initiation is restricted to those who have had, or are qualified to take, a highest yoga tantra initiation (also known as maha anuttara yoga tantra). Due to the restrictions, this event will be onsite only at Jewel Heart Ann Arbor. The only commitment will be the Six Session Guru Yoga.
Heruka Body Mandala Initiation
Monday November 9
In order to attend the Heruka Body Mandala Initiation, one must have attended a Heruka Ghantapa (Drilbupa) 5 Deities Initiation. Due to the restrictions, this event will be onsite only at Jewel Heart Ann Arbor. Our current understanding is that the only commitment will be the Six Session Guru Yoga.
Yamantaka Thirteen-Deity Initiation
Tuesday – Wednesday, November 10 – 11
The Yamantaka Thirteen-Deity Initiation is restricted to those who have had, or are qualified to take, a highest yoga tantra initiation (also known as maha anuttara yoga tantra). Due to the restrictions, this event will be onsite only at Jewel Heart Ann Arbor. Our current understanding is that the only commitment will be the Six Session Guru Yoga.
Six Yogas of Naropa
November 12 – 14 & 16
This event will be onsite and online. The proposed schedule is Thursday and Friday evening, Saturday all day and Monday evening. Details are still to be determined.
