Demo Rinpoche will conclude the Joyful Jewel Heart Summer Retreat with a Bodhisattva Vow Ceremony. Attendance at Retreat is not required to participate. Taking these vows is done to safeguard the development of bodhimind – the altruistic wish to become enlightened for the benefit of others. The vows set guidelines for both avoiding harm to others and for helping them.
For those taking the vows for the first time, this is a great opportunity to support one’s compassionate motivation and for those who have taken the vows before, it is an occasion to reaffirm and refresh them.
Local participants are welcome to join the Potluck Picnic afterwards. Please bring a dish to pass.
