In these weekly Sunday morning teachings spanning from March 2013 to December 2014, Gelek Rimpoche elaborates on the “Tibetan Buddhism” series, with the earlier sessions on the foundational Compassion for Oneself meditations, laying the ground work for the later sessions emphasizing Great Compassion for all living beings.

Essence of Tibetan Buddhism 19

Non-attachment, non-hatred, non-ignorance

Non-attachment, non-hatred and non-ignorance are the essence of true spiritual practice. They are the roots of all virtue, the protection from wrongdoing. Spiritual development means making our lives free from those three poisons and their karmic imprints. Simply the act of not engaging in them becomes positive merit. That is how one tries to live one’s life.
